Edibility
This mushroom has a mild flavor and can be confused with the toxic Clitocybe rivulosa (Fool’s Funnel), though it is distinguished by its waxy texture and pure white color. It also resembles the inedible Cuphophyllus russocoriacea, which can be identified by its distinctive smell of pine-scented disinfectant.
Misidentification can be fatal. Never eat a mushroom unless you're 100% sure. This information may be inaccurate. Always consult multiple sources.
Nutrient Source
facultativeIt is believed to be biotrophic and may associate with plants like grasses or mosses, rather than trees. It absorbs nutrients from living plant tissues.
