Habitat

- 2.5 to 7 cm long, 4 to 10 mm thick; yellow to ochre near the top and brownish toward the base; surfaces are covered in fine white fibers with an indistinct ring zone from the veil; the base is typically covered in white downy growth.

- Crowded and attached to the stem, often with a small decurrent tooth; golden-yellow or ochre, frequently developing reddish-brown spots as they mature.
- Flesh
- Yellowish in the cap and reddish-brown or tawny within the stem; taste is notably bitter; smell is faint, ranging from indistinct to slightly spicy or mushroom-like.

Edibility
