Edibility
This species has a pleasant, mild to sweet taste and soft or slightly rubbery, stringy flesh. Although it is considered good to eat, foraging is discouraged in some regions due to its rarity and protected status. It is unlikely to be confused with anything outside of its own genus, and small pieces can be used as a textural addition to clear soups.
Misidentification can be fatal. Never eat a mushroom unless you're 100% sure. This information may be inaccurate. Always consult multiple sources.
