Edibility

EdibleTaste: OK ★★☆☆☆

This mushroom has a mild, sweet, and fruity flavor with a pleasant aroma. Younger, firmer specimens are preferred for eating because the flesh is soft; it gains a pink color when cooked. There are no poisonous lookalikes, making it a safe species for beginners to identify.

Misidentification can be fatal. Never eat a mushroom unless you're 100% sure. This information may be inaccurate. Always consult multiple sources.

Nutrient Source

Ectomycorrhizal

It forms a symbiotic relationship with trees, exchanging nutrients from the soil for carbohydrates produced by the tree.
